Got the truck back. They did a good job on the paint fix. Have a nice container of color matched touch up now. Sucks it cost what it did but it was going to get a whole lot worse if I just let it go or looked like shit if I tried to touch up pen it.

Well I got one more little project done on the Z last night that has been holding me up. These are solenoids for the variable valve timing. The passenger side had the positive wire cut and frayed so it was not even working when I bought it. The originally had this thick tar looking shit that melts and makes a mess protecting the wires. Got some aluminum caps for them and re wrapped the wires. These are the thing that are taking me so long to get this thing fired up. Now I can get the valve covers installed permanently and move on to the next thing.

I run DB Australia rotors and hawk yellow pads. Had really good luck even running 34s. Only time I’ve ever had dad was when I got a little excited coming down Engineer pass. That was miles of spurred driving though.

WTF land cruiser? Got asked to weld on a set of sliders for a friend of a friend of @snowboard704 and apparently they run the freaking exhaust on the passenger side outside of the frame rails? And the frame dove tails in the middle of the vehicle so each leg is a different length and different angle. He was telling me model specific sliders to for over $1k and I know why. Gonna have to make some funky ass legs to make this work and still gonna lose my ass on what I quoted not knowing this.

At least the drivers side is coming out good.

I hate the news. They reported Lowe's is laying off thousands! Truth: They are laying off 1000 of the 310,000 employees. A drop in the bucket and probably just trimming some fat. Not good if you are one though. I watch to be informed, not lied to. Where can an unbiased news report be found?

Tire Rack was the best price, but wanted to see if there were other proven options out there. Figured folks on here are harder on their trucks than I am.

I am extremely disappointed with the factory rotors getting warped with a single trip to Flag. That’s just sad, but I suppose in order to help pay for the routine maintenance for 25k miles they had to cut corners.

They are not that bad (hot spots), but I can definitely tell when they heat up. At least they are not lightweight 2 piece racing rotors and big Brembo pads! Those hurt the budget big time, but changing took less time than it took to jack the car up.

$450 installed if I rattle can paint them. $600 and I can have them powder coated at the local shop. Or $400 bare and you can paint/ install yourself.

Hey I was just sending you jobs haha. Had no clue the frames on the cruisers did that

If I was in town I guess I would have been modifying every slider leg but I’m not, so it’s your lucky day :D

At least they are coming out great!

Yeah just giving you shit. They are coming out great. Just a little more work than expected and felt like complaining. They said you are bringing back a buggy on 42’s when you come back to az in a few weeks? Can’t wait to see it.
