Have you checked your cabin air filter? That's where I'd start.

I just replaced the can fan assembly in my Lexus RX330 after a mouse built a nest in it and died, probably after I turned on the fan...not good. If you ignore the gunplay in the first 15 seconds of the video, this gives you a pretty good idea of how to do it. This is the same process as the one I just did in my Lexus. Don’t forget to replace the cabin filter, that will have a bunch of nest parts in it (usually).

Good Luck! It is not complicated, just takes some time. I bought a non-OEM replacement part at an Autozone and works fine (so far!)

Ditto on the Cabin Air Filter in the glove box. This happened to my wife's RAV4 - mouse with litter was on top of the filter. I was able to carefully remove the carcasses as so not to drop anything further into the air system. Sprayed with everything I could think of to mitigate the smell. All turned out OK.

I would also check your air intake filter. At the same time, a mouse was gnawing on my motorcycle air filter.
