Looking for recommendations for some relatively easy trails around Joshua Tree, heading there in a couple of weeks to watch the meteor shower.

There's Berdoo Canyon which is a popular one out there. That's the only one I know of and it will take you all the way into Joshua Tree.

We're staying in Palm Desert, looking to get on the other side of the hill from the city lights.
We're going Monday night 8/12, if anyone wants to join us.
We'll probably scout it out Sunday evening.

I did some research on this a while back but never got to go, but I had mapped out going through Berdoo Canyon to Geology Tour Rd which takes you in the the park.

Then I mapped to go right staying on Geology Tour Rd towards park Blvd and went right on pinto basin rd(paved).

Then pinto basin meets up with old dale rd which from there you would meet up with mecca dale rd which would take you out of the park and meet up with the 62.

Here is how i mapped it out:

Like I said, I never got to do this trip but maybe this could work for you.

You've got Berdo Canyon, Old Dale District, Brooklyn mine etc.

Did Old Dale Rd a couple months back. Relatively easy trail. Just be mindful of the hot weather, it’s been a constant 110+ degrees out there lately.
