Only with the a/c on does it do that, interestingly.

Chiming in to say my shitheap of a truck also does this - started noticing it recently.

Also turned left onto a highway the other day, and when I went to goose it the truck seemed to fight me like a stubborn dog.

Damn, that sucks man. Truck should definately have no hesitation. My truck drives very smooth, never any hesitation even at low rpms. I use non ethanol gas. Good luck man, hopefully you get this sorted out.

I have mostly owned turbos and use Chevron 94 octane with no Ethanol so I don't know much about 87 octane gas. I am also in B.C. so I am wondering is it 87 octane gas that you use that has no Ethanol and if so where do you buy it?

I wish it was 87 , only 91 or higher has no ethanol around here. Dont think im hurting anything since manual says 87 or higher.

OP, put some miles on it. I had the same sort of issues you are describing but they all but disappeared with miles. One thing about the Tacoma is that it take plenty of miles to fully break everything in. The DI system and the port injection system don't play nice under low rpm and high load.
