have had my dealership service my 4Runner. Both times pressure was set at 40 psi. When I bought car also at 40 psi.

Two pen tire checkers read out 40. I though it was 32 psi.... what am Idoing wrong.

Door jam says 32. I always put at 32, but why does dealership always make it 40psi

Mostly stock with a few minor mods.
I just had my tires re-balanced at the major chain store that installed them and the service writer specifically asked me what PSI I ran my tires at. I told him 29 just like the doorjamb tag says. I got it back and could tell on the ride home they were over inflated. Sure enough, 40 PSI. I have no idea why they bother to ask if they aren't going to actually get it right.

Spec is inside the door frame, its 29 psi on most Tacomas.

Max tire pressure is usually 44psi on P metric factory tires.

I set most Tacomas to 32-33psi to prevent the TPMS light from coming on during temp dips.

I run my Tacoma at 37 just because they always wear out on the inside and outside first .
