That’s the exact trail we should be doing ! I’m excited

Just gotta fix my flat tire issue first lol. I might have to wait if I have to buy new tires cause those don’t look cheap

Mine are really not cheap for the Stache...29x3.0. I usually take a tubed bike to places west. Out there is hell on tires and tubes are easier for me to deal with on the trail. Not sure I could fix tubeless on the trail without carting one of the 3lb tubes with me and that would still be a mess to deal with. 29x2.35 are what is on the AnthemX and I kept them tubed. Flats are no fun.

BTW, those places start to be where full suspension is VERY appreciated. I know you wanna ride the new bike though. I have done a lot of out west with just front suspension and hardtail is still way better than not going.

Is this the place? Does property go all the way north to hwy 22?.........looks like a creek runs thru it...well upon zooming, looks like sometimes it's a creek. Looks like just south in 1000 trails rv park there is access to the river, should I bring kayaks?

You’re close. It’s like north of 1000 trails. No kayak. I can get you in touch with the land owner if you’d like to go out there and ride.

Just bring a spare tube. I've done quite a few runs down the whole enchilada and never lost a tubeless tire. Only time I have was on my stache at the local dirt jumps. All the sealant had dried out though, so I can't blame the tire.

    Yeah.
I've had fewer flats running tubeless than I ever did running tubes. I've only had 2 flats that required me to put a tube in, most sealed up on their own. Mostly had pinch flats with tubes. Still need to pick up a tubeless plug kit, just in case. Anyone have a recommendation?

Snakebites are THE WORST on tubes. Thank god someone told me about tubeless back when I started. #neveragain.

I think it's lezyne has one that kinda looks like a big pill container. Got pretty good reviews on pinkbike.

I CAN tell you that a dried up bacon strip pushed in with the end of a 3mm allen is a piss poor trail fix that will leave you stranded.

    Yeah.
I will check that one out.

Dried up bacon is not something I typically carry with me, but is an interesting thing to attempt.

LOL, not actual bacon. That is meant as a trail snack! Pocket bacon has gotten me through many a pow day / early morning pedal.

You don’t like those? I think that’s what I have but I haven’t had to use them yet

They work if you have the right tool. A 3mm Allen key is not the right tool.

You will need to replace them every so often because they dry out after a while (at least in arid ass Utah)

Good note, I have the plug tool, might need to check the plugs though.

I'd do that. Helped a girl stuck trailside with a pouch full of dry ones 2 weekends ago.

Gonna go get tubeless conversion done today after work. I know I could do it myself but I’m still learning. I’ll just watch them do it and do it myself next time. Thankfully the roscoe is already set up for tubeless so it’ll be easy and cheap

LOL, WTF are they using the pliers for? And you should get them to cut off that plastic guard behind your cassette.

Bruh they couldn’t get the beads to break hahahahaha they weren’t just normal pliers though. Had things at the end I guess for this use.

Made me feel good about not doing it myself at home.

    Yeah.
Trash can. Put the wheel on top and grab both sides of the tire and push down. Rotate if still being stubborn.
