3" Front 2" Rear Leveling kit

Hey All - new here and have sifted through multiple lift threads already. Most people are saying don't do spacers but there are plenty of others saying their ride is just fine. I just want to understand what if any implications are there doing a 3" front and 2" rear leveling Kit? Not sure I can justify the cost of a full suspension upgrade after buying a brand new vehicle...

Just picked up a 2019 TRD Off Road Crew Cab Long bed. I am looking to run 33's with either 17-18" wheels and were thinking about utilizing the following:

Spacers and blocks are fine for street and mild to medium off-road. IE cut and organized trails. It depends on what YOU want. The best is actually full coil over replacement with good shocks and springs, an AAL or full leaf replacement, new UCA’s, and spindles if you can.

Two questions must be asked and answered to yourself before you can proceed.

1) Budget
2) What are you trying to do?

 

Most people here are going to shit talk spacers and how your truck will explode and break in half if you have them. That being said I installed a pro-comp 3/2 kit along with the front diff drop on my fathers truck. 17 inch wheel with a 265/70/17. In all honesty his truck rides almost like stock. It’s slightly stiffer but in a good way imo.

 

I think the hardest part I am having is I want the truck to be reasonably lifted. 3" seems perfect for look and for clearance but then getting into all of the different options my head is spinning... I am not mechanically inclined haha. many people say that there are also a whole slew of issues once you go past 2".

This is my first truck. Going to be used for house projects - hence the long bed, and I want to use it for off roading in WA to go camping, exploring ect. I don't know how serious I will get or how crazy some of these fire roads/wheeling trails are.

Just the cost of wheels, tires, lift is looking to be $5-8K...

 

71tattooguy - Can you please explain more about Differential Drop and Rear Block Shims?

 

It’s comes with the kit , shims in rear for drive line angle. So no vibrations etc.

 

I had purchased the two links I posted earlier, just last night. I don't think they had them in there... maybe I can purchase separately. Wanted to keep the cast iron block vs going aluminum.

 

Check details on block. If it's a tapered block no need for shims. If it isn't tapered you will need them, along with longer center spring bolt. Buy shim kit, bolt included.

 

I just did the 2 inch level kit front only I like the ride it’s like a truck is supposed to ride. I did thousands of dollars in aftermarket lifts on my last truck and decided with this one to keep it simple and I have the spacer lift is fine for streets and dirt roads if your planning on wheeling the truck hard then get what you need for the type of wheeling you plan to do just my two scents

 

Revtech 3 inch up front, aal rear, 2 inch diff drop. No issues at all on road. Rides stiff off road and I off road a lot for work. 400 ish for the kit, around 800 total with the install and alignment.

 

Done it to 2 Toyotas. Wouldn't do it again if it was free..ride is already rough and the spacers make it worse. However it does provide the space for biggers tires and the lift/level "look".

Looks great. I would recommend installing a 1” block in rear. Being the back up a little. So when you load it up, you won’t be bro leaned big time. Just a suggestion. I personally like the 1” of rake for that reason.

Holy smokes 5k-8k? What kind of wheels and tires aren’t you getting? For that amount of money you can be getting a damn good setup, even with tires and wheels.

 

Curious, was your spacer a coil spacer or strut spacer? There is a difference; the latter yielding the stock ride, and the former riding like dook.

 

It was a strut spacer. Wasn't significantly stiff on the '14 tacoma but was border line unbearable on the '07 tundra

 

What tires do you have on that? They look great! I’m thinking I may copy cat your lift and tire size.
