Specific reason to have a second person near? General safety?

Place the ground as close to work as possible, as the current will try to find the best path back to the ground. I’ve seen guys burn up ground wires and brake lines due to poor ground connection. Otherwise just be smart and you’ll be fine. I’ve welded on these trucks a ton, both mig and tig. Really nothing specific to worry about. Like others said keep a fire extinguisher handy.

Thanks! Yea thats what i was worried about were like specific things someone had to learn the hard way. Sounds like common sense mostly so that's comforting! Will paint affect the ground, like should i grind paint off where i put the clamp?

Yeah. You’ll need a bare spot to for the ground, also make sure to clean the paint off the backside of the core support where you’re welding

If you want professional results I’d recommend adding a DA sander to your arsenal

Are you in the Atlanta area, or does Hollywood ship you around? I think some of Capt America was filmed here. I'm just North of Atlanta and would find a job like that interesting. a shop I used to work at, we built the autopsy table in "Concussion" the Will Smith football movie. Did a lot of restaurant buffets and stuff like that.
Heres a menu board I did for Burger 21

Naw I’m in the LA Hollywood area. There is a huge studio in Atlanta called Pinewood studios that they do a ton of filming at. But I stay here. After Captain America Winter Soldier, a lot of the Marvel stuff went to Atlanta. They still do a bunch of reshoots here though for those particular movies. That’s super cool man! It’s cool building stuff and seeing it used in a movie or tv show.

Made 50 of these T fittings to build big green screen frames on boom lifts. These will connect all the ribs in the middle to give rigidity to the frame. That has been my first project so far working on this Star Wars stuff haha
