    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
    Then it was on to the transmission.

    I noticed, when I did the shift kit, that the instructions mentioned a bushing that may need to be replaced. It said this bushing, if worn, can cause additional heat because the lock up on the torque converter can be delayed.

    So I dropped the valve body and opened it up to replace the bushing.

    Do yourself a favor if you do a shift kit... replace this bushing if applicable.

    So... next item on the agenda.

    Replace the front hub bearing I must have wrecked in the last few months.
    20190805_204907.jpg

    Caught it while replacing brake pads.

    Yes, I ran that bitch all weekend with a wrecked wheel bearing. :anonymous:

    But hey... it never started screaming at me.

    Was it difficult to remove the valve body? I read you had to be careful when removing the valve body as small parts can fall out. I was thinking of dropping the pan and cleaning it up. Also wanted to see if anything was affecting the high trans temp.

    Got a Hayden oil cooler I’ll be putting in soon.

    Not difficult to remove valve body. But there are accumulators and springs that can fall out. I would suggest having a service manual or something handy to tell you where/how they go.

    You can drop the pan and strainer without dropping anything else.

    So, I tore the front passenger side apart. @foxrcing07 and I pressed the bearing on Sunday. The bearing was shot.

    Everything went back together as it was supposed to. Now that it's replaced I can tell I was dealing with a bit of slop in the steering... much tighter now.

    Saturday was spent with a few good friends working on taco trucks. (Believe it or not, it was the 10th Mod Day we've had in the 209... read about some of those escapades here)

    @MattJakobs did some snorkling

    @CalTacoma09 did some ECGS replacing
    ECGS bushing took a bit longer than expected because things didn't go exactly as planned.

    @Sharkfrog replaced his 600# coils with 700# coils

    And I did some badassecorizations to my hood.

    @foxrcing07 hung out, helped, provided advice when neccesary and healthy doses of sarcasm and bullshitary.

    It was a pretty damn fine day.

    Hood looks damn good, can't wait to see it in the day time. I think you've aspired me to do mine.

    20190825_134219.jpg 20190825_133518.jpg Started re-building some dr coil overs today. One of the shafts is bent, so hopefully I can source a new one. We'll see how well I can clean them up and get them up and running. I've never re-built shocks before, but now is as good a time as any to learn.

    The shock with the bent shaft had some suprises inside lol.

    Resized_20190825_164012_001.jpg

    Looks like the rubber seals have deteriorated inside and left a coating... I ordered a cylider hone to clean up the inside, so I'm kind of on hold for now.

    20190825_173715.jpg

    Will order the replacement shaft this week.

    Big thanks to @foxrcing and @CalTacoma09 for the hand me downs though. I'll get these things trail worthy and I'll be rockin them soon... with a bit more knowledge in the tool box to go with them :thumbsup:

    Been a bit busy lately. Haven't updated this thread much. But I have been doing things with the truck. (not really much done to the truck)

    Went scouting a couple weekends ago. Pretty relaxing trip with the Mrs.

    @foxrcing07 put me on to a deal on a used compressor. For 80 bucks, I couldn't pass it up.

    20190925_204934.jpg

    Just have to buy some fittings etc and I'll have some on-board air
