I put a 4" tall knob on mine, for longer throws, lol. Leverage makes it easier to shift without needing a heavy knob. My weighted ones would shake out of gear occasionally when I took it offroad.

    Core makes Hurst SS now.

i'm interested too! there was a history with this. i tried to work out a purchase a few months ago, had to ask some questions about my a/m shift knob fitment, and ended up bringing up the demons from the vendor (made no sense whatsoever), so i dropped it. but i'm not totally satisfied with my shift setup and still want to try this. gave it a few months and hoped he forgot my name. so far all looks good. i was about to have my URD SS worked over for more feel, but decided that's not a good deal and will put the money into a Core.

I wasn't speaking to the clutch warranty, rather just the warranty in general. Let's say i had a transmission issue, and they see it missing. Then decline the coverage for modification reasons. I could see it happening.

I could see that, but if your gearbox is feeling good 5,000k in, the chances of something cropping up is almost zero. Whereas, the accumulator is actively wearing your clutch and giving a less than smooth engagement.

I am sure that folks who did the dremel mod can speak to it though. Search out posts in this thread from @kgautier and @M1Awolf . Both of those folks did the dremel mod.

PepBoys has the 2 parts to do the ADM mod too. Less than $10, parts are in route:

I wasn't planning to do this mod but it looks very simple so it's on my list. Thanks everyone for the info.

I have the lifetime warranty. I think I'll just bypass it and keep the accumulator just in case. I can just reinstall it if something happens i guess.

I do hate thinking about the clutch wear every time i drive it with that thing installed.

    Thanks for the info though.

Wasn't his kit $75 shipped? You only want $25 + shipping?

Depends when you bought it. I paid $30 shipped for mine. I think Trident kept raising the price because he didn't want to make them anymore, lol.

He also sunk some costs in there for better tools and testing.

Ah, didn't realize that. Glad I got mine early on. One of these days I should install it though. :anonymous:

It was only mentioned in a post or two.

Get it on there! :boink: :D

It was a surprising difference for me. Well worth even my kludged effort.

Completed the ADM mod today. Member lapoltba gave me some good advice - thank you!

As I posted earlier my 2019 TRD Sport AC's clutch felt fine, no issues unlike some earlier models. I mainly did the mod to possibly save clutch wear, and the parts needed were less than $15.
    20190818_111351.jpg

The mod is fairly easy, 3/8, 1/4 ratchets and flare wrenches are your friends here. I used a piece of romex as a template and a HF brake line tool to form the 90deg bend. If you buy this tool you will need to smooth out the grooves with a round fine file, the groves are a bit rough. The 180 bend is easily done by hand. The front drive line does not need to be removed though I did remove the catalytic converter brace.

I opted to secure the new line in place with an insulated clamp to one of the heat shield bolts. I also placed some 1/4 fuel hose over part of the line as a buffer just in case. A bit more time consuming but it gives me a piece of mind there is less vibration of the poly brake/clutch line.
    20190818_194212.jpg

Gravity bled the line, topped off with Dot 3. The Walmart brake fluid meets Toyota specs.

Test drove the truck and the clutch release is still out near the end of the pedal as it was before. Clutch feels a bit more solid and maybe 20% less spongy. No complaints so far. Never had any issues shifting any gears so nothing to improve there.

Hopefully this mod will prolong the life of the clutch plate though I never wore out the clutches in my previous Toyotas (unlike previous GMs and Datsun PUs) . Looking forward to switching the MT gear oil to Redline next month at around 4k miles.

If I am correct this hose has the correct fittings for this mod. I think it might be a little easier with no bending and would eliminate the brass adapter. Just my opinion but would be more professional looking.

It is also an inverted flare instead of a double flare on the female fitting. I happen to have kits with the proper fittings for sale.
