Funny! My wife doesn't know diddly about firearms but she knows a new one when she sees one. Same thing on mods. Boy am I glad she's such a good sport!

Wow. Your Mom sounds amazing. Some just know how to step up when they have to. We didn't have much growing up, Dad worked, Mom stayed home but wouldn't change it for the world. Loved my childhood. Times were simple and like you said, your word meant everything. Need more of that these days.

Man you guys struck a chord here. When my Grandfather died in 1962, who was the farmer breadwinner, with 5 other kids at home, my Dad spent weekdays working and then every weekend trying to help Grandma farm and help "raise" his 5 siblings down in NC. We didn't have much growing up. Spent summers, after baseball (which was one brief season then), helping pull and string tobacco among other farm chores. I think when I was 14 we got a window a/c unit. Used to get the JCPenney looks like Levi jeans and their look like Converse tennis shoes. Life was still good. I did get a Schwinn paperboy deluxe for my 3 paper routes (what the heck is a paper route some may ask). I saved paper route money and paid cash, $1000, for my first car, a 1971 Charger with 50,000 miles, and my Dad made me park it for a month until "I" saved enough for insurance. No cell phones, no cable, no video games. But life was awesome. No regrets.

Thanks. Mom was a tough act to follow. She was the family matriarch.
Wish I had my stuff together half as much as she did. Instead I'm spending money on a perfectly fine Tacoma on stuff that I really don't need. :anonymous:

Life was a lot simpler back then! I remember I didn’t own a pair of Levi’s until I got a summer job and paid for them myself! Before that it was Sears Toughskin Jeans!

Think most Moms were tough back in the day. Could handle anything thrown at them for the most part. Remember when she worked at a bank when it was robbed at gun point. Everyone lost their cool but her. That's what ended up keeping them from getting harmed. She was actually the one that handed over the money while slipping in a dye pack. I would have probably been a wreck. She brushed it off and kept on chugging until she retired. Nerves of steel.

2A448467-74E3-49B9-945F-E8473CEC6EE6.jpg image.jpg Leather boots and a leather wrapped dash piece. Gonna paint the background of these tan and put the trim back on. I hear krylon is a good paint to use. I still need to scuff the surface. Still don’t have the paint so any info on that would be nice.
