Just bought the Bilstein 5100s. Any advice for an AAL? Thanks!

I'm going through this now originally went 2.5 inches on my bilstein 5100s. I'm currently lowering mine to 1.75. I also reused stock coils. It road extremely rough.

Most of my issues are coming from the front end. Ended with spc ucas. Kind of wish I went with the jbas.

I would just get new lift springs and toss the old ones. 884 or Headstrong HS2 coils are what you’re looking for.

I just lowered my truck to 1.75 from 2.5. The ride quality already seems to be better. I liked the height but not the ride

Yeah lol I just meant temporarily to see how much rake was left. Mostly concerned about it being safe to drive that way for a week or so.

Do you say that because of performance? I'm trying not to rack the bill up too high if not necessary, but if there's a big performance or long-term-wear advantage, I should do it. IE- way cheaper to lift on blocks, but everything I read keeps convincing me to go with leaf springs.

    Still on the stock springs?

once my fuel tank gets to 1/2 i’m going to measure my front/height. this should tell me what coils to match with a aal for an even rude. hopefully the aals won’t settle or sag.

i've got another vote for the headstrong AAL in the rear (3 leaf, progressive). Love the lift, and seems to drive well. I'm running the OME 887 on the front with the Bilstein 5100 at 0 setting. Gives about a 2.75" lift on my 09 Access Cab. I'd say it's a bit stiff with no added weight, so running the stock springs on the 5100 clips (1.75 / 2.5) is probably a bit smoother.

did you have to extend the brake cable for this height?

    Headstrong progressive aal FTW

But going with a whole new aftermarket leaf pack would probably be the best way to go because our factory leaf springs suck.

negative, but it's because when i bought my truck used, the previous owner didn't get the extended 5100. the 5100 limits the droop. whether or not it's recommended to do so, probably up for debate, however the OME shocks that they match with their Dakar leaf packs are only 0.4" more extension than the 5100s.

It’s all about ride performance. The more you compress your stock springs to gain height, you will have more stiffness and less suspension travel. If that’s no big deal, then keep the stock ones.

You could find a cheap set of 2016+ Springs and set your 5100’s to 0.85. You will get 1” more lift with those.

My 2011 Offroad Dbl Cab. With stock front springs I set the ring at third notch up from the bottom leaving one notch above. Stock three leaf rears and truck sits level by appearance, if a level is put on top of the bed rails it is just slightly high in the front but you can't tell just looking at it. If I put a couple hundred pounds in bed than it is a little obvious. I would start with the front at the 1.75"/third notch up get it aligned drive it a while, make a judgement about how much weight you might carry at times. Than if you want to raise the rear go with a new complete spring pack. P.S raising the front will ever so slightly raise the rear as well or at least the appearance it did. The only way to increase ground clearance in the rear is only going to be accomplished with larger diameter tires. I am currently running P265/75-16 on 16x8 wheels with 0* offset/4.5" back spacing alignment is good and no rubbing and I left front mud flaps installed. When front mud flaps were off I could not keep side windows clean.
