My 2015 has a AC condenser leak. Grrrrr

    Dang it! Only 21k miles and a condenser leak. I put some dye in 2 weeks ago and it showed it’s ugly yellow head last night with my UV light. No damage from road debris, just leaking on the side next to the right edge. I think it’s a really slow leak and it’s probably been leaking a long time. Maybe a defective condenser or problems with it since Toyota says that part number is discontinued. Rock auto has some decent prices though. Anyone else have a condenser leak on a 15 with low miles?

    What made you look for a leak? My 2015 has 45,000 miles, I've never had a problem with anything on my Taco.

    It was just blowing ambient air this spring, confirmed with a thermometer in the vent. Had it recharged with some added dye. All seemed fine for awhile and then last night thought I would check it again with my UV light and sure enough there’s a leak. It must be real slow.

    Yea, I was kinda pissed, this is the first thing I had gone wrong with any of my tacos. This is number 4. Especially this early in its life

    MY friend has a 2012, at the time ,he had 25k miles on it. Condenser took a dump. It happens, not a lot but , it happens.

    My last tacoma, Gen 1, I had 17 yrs and the AC was perfect. This 15 ac problem is a manufacturer blunder I suppose.

    I find it very shocking that Toyota would discontinue a part for a 2015 so soon, is there a new part number that supercedes the old?

    I don’t know. I just search that part number for a 15 condenser at a Toyota dealer to see what a 15 oem condenser would cost and it said discontinued. I then just went to rock auto and Amazon.

    Sliders, Tailgate Liner
    Rock Auto and buy a vacuum pump from Harbor Freight. You'll save some money if you do it yourself. Then you can recharge it or take it in to be filled up.
    Consider yourself lucky, even though it's not that old, at least it's not the evaporator that's buried in your dash!
