Engine trouble - 89 engine tick

    1989 Toyota Pickup 4x4 5speed v6
    Stock
    I accidentally ran the truck low on oil during a long road trip across the US. Started to hear a ticking in the engine when I give it gas. It’s most noticeable in low gears. The noise isn’t there when it is idling.

    It’s a 89 Pickup 5 speed v6.

    Any help is much appreciated.

    Maybe it's the valves. Do you know where in the engine bay its coming from?
