My original thread was about my 2002 Tacoma being totaled and whether it was worth buying it as a salvage. Because the guy who hit my truck had such crappy insurance, my truck has been sitting in a shop since May 21, while the State Department of Insurance has now had to open an investigation. The shop is now tired of storing the vehicle, they are charging per day. There is no way I will be getting it back. In addition, I paid for a rental car for 6 weeks being promised that I would be reimbursed at the close of the claim. I finally gave up and took out a loan and looked for a 2015 Tacoma. I have it now. Not TRD, but a V6 Prerunner. Not the same beautiful red, but it is a red Tacoma. Now I begin to make it more girlie so my husband doesn't borrow it. I'm slowly starting to become attached to her. I'll give it time.

OP. Shouldn’t your insurance be making you whole? It’s up to them to collect from the perps insurance.

Why are you letting the shop steal your truck?

More then likely the storage fees are more then the truck is worth as is plus the added costs of repairing .

I know back in the eighties storage fees were like $10.00 a day

This sounds more like an issue with YOUR insurance, not theirs.

I've dealt with other people's crap insurance before, and my insurance always paid me right away, then deals with the other company after the fact.

You need to get on your insurance company and read them the riot act, that's BS.
