I just got the TRD Catback exhaust installed and i'm a huge fan. Sounds great, would absolutely recommend if you're going to change

I am wondering why you want to replace the stock exhaust as it surely can't need replacing in a 2018. Is it for increased performance or is to get a different sound? Or???

    I knew it! Lol

I'm just a hater because I really wish I could put an after market exhaust on this truck.

I think your best bet is to go to the regional forums and find people with aftermarket exhausts and see if you can meet up and check it out. Since an aftermarket exhaust will only most notably give you more noise than anything. Most vids online wont sound what it actually sounds like.

But IMO TRD exhaust is your best bet. it's what I have.

i agree that going in person to listen and look is the only way.

i 100% do not agree that it will only give you sound. you are talking about off-the-shelf kits. a real custom exhaust will give you performance. it's not subtle when you get it right.

the TRD kit, being an off-the-shelf kit, is a good one for sound. and it's a bad one for performance. the muffler is highly restrictive. OP needs to define the mission: sound? performance? budget? timeframe?

Totally agreed with the right exhaust on the right vehicle, you will see a performance gain. However on a bone stock tacoma, I can only assume that's the case with OP, there will be little to no noticable performance gain.

yes, agreed. the difference between an A/M exhaust kit for sound vs. a full custom exhaust for performance (and maybe sound also) is a big one.

it's a hard question to answer, not just because it's subjective, but also because you have a URD Y pipe. not sure how many have combined these two. that's where to start if you want actual impressions IMO. but I've seen reports around here of some satisfied with their cat backs.

i liked the sound of my TRD cat back but the performance was way off.
