It’s all about repairing it according to manufacturer position statements and body repair manual and knowing how to get the insurance company to pay to do so.

There is the "key" right there.... oh and a honest body shop... which I honestly don't think exists where I live.

In my experience most of the time it’s the insurance company that’s not honest. All good body technicians take a lot of pride in their work.

I have had only one good out come through insurance and it really wasn't good. Let's just say it was more than fair, just sucked balls it happend.
Agreed the body shop can only do what the insurance will allow, but my experience is the body shop will cut corners to either save the insurance company money or they pocket they difference from what they can bill vs what was actually done.

Why would a body shop cut corners to save an insurance company money? A body shop is a business and the more labor or parts you sell the more money you make. We are a dealership and don’t depend on insurance companies to send us work. We educate our customers. Pocketing money for work not performed is theft.

I plan to install 10,000,000 of them to make the truck not need any gas at all.

Here, most insurance adjusters are attached (in house) to the body shop. When I got my 07 back after the front was replaced, I had to go back 4 times to have issues that were not addressed or done poorly. I don't even want to talk about my 2 Hondas that were combined totals of 12 accidents. came back worse every time it was worked on.
Just my experience and not saying its all shops or people.

That’s a shame look for a dealer shop that has no insurance direct repair programs if your ever in need of body repairs. We are a Honda/Acura certifies shop.

Door seals are double sided taped across the top of doors. They were removed for blending paint for color match to replaced bed side.
Rear door applique is the black door sticker and needed to be removed for blending rear door. Rail caps were damaged during removal. The tabs were stretched. Zero point calibration required because Srs codes triggered. Seat belts and buckles were replaced because Toyota says they recommend it after an impact even if they don’t deploy and the webbing had minor stretch marks where buckles were at time of impact. left bed side was blended to match the new tail gate.
