I want to upgrade the stock unit. I was first thinking about going with a pioneer 4500nex, but after going over everything needed to make the unit work properly it would cost way more than I want to spend at the moment. So I'm trying to figure out which Android head units to get, that have carplay and android auto. And retains factory features such as the steering wheel controls. these units seem more plug and play than everything else out there. I've searched through the forum and found the two best I can find are the

Dasaita Android 9.0 Car Stereo https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JGVFTW5?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And the iying 9'' Android 8.1 Car Radio GPS Navigation

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/9-Android-...timedia-System-for-Toyota-Sienna/183864618108

Or if you have another one that's great let me know. Trying to retain as many stock features as possible. Just wish I could somehow add HD radio, but it seems like there isn't one that has that feature yet. I'd rather have carplay and working steering wheel controls at this point than HD radio.

Most of the android headunits are pretty much the same. I have the Joying one, but I chose that one because it has a volume knob instead of touch buttons... I hate touch buttons for volume.

Everything works great and its using the new intel cpu.

You want to look for the one with the features you want. Video out is nice to have, but dont go by the listings, mine said it didnt have video out, but it does.

Also check the ROM size, the bigger the better there (storage) You can hook up a external hard drive to most of the units, but its nice to have internal storage too.

I just bought the Dasaita 9.0. Like above I choose that one because no buttons. Pretty much all seem to have the same features now on that price range.
Dasaita retains factory USB and you can even use the factory gps antenna with an adapter($15).

There are some that fit the 2nd get, the ones listed here are for the 3rd gen. Yes they work with subwoofers, they all should have a sub output.

Hi, both unit will fulfill your requirement of CarPlay and steering controls. Both unit have Canbus decoders and the cable to keep your oem usb port. Also they fit perfectly, oem look. Check the posts, they will probably will help your to choose.

    Good luck.

Before this head unit, I had plan to install a LC7i and a 5 channel w/ Sub running off the factory non JBL unit. This unit will eliminate the need for the LC7i all together. Looks like I'll just need a splitter for L/R at amp for the sub in. I swapped out my speakers already to the kickers and by your thread on the sound performance, I probably wont need to run extra power to the speaker. Pretty much just adding a sub.
