Would anyone know if 3rd GEN Steelies rims TPMS sensors would be reprogrammable and compatible with a 2ND gen truck that had factory equipped steelies and TPMS sensors? There are lots of [pretty new 3rd GEN takeoffs on steelies available on Craigslist but I really don't want to have to pull my TPMS sensors and put them in another set of rims if possible.

Steelies to steelies - fit is no problem, it's the same wheel after all.

Sometime in MY18 they went from a 6 digit Hex ID to a 7 digit. I think (but don't know for sure) that wouldn't work on your truck. Haven't seen any threads addressing the issue, either.

I have a set of 6 digit 4Runner Trails and can't make them work on my 7 digit system.

the fit isn't going to be a problem those are the same steelies they used since 2005, its the TPMS I think they are incompatible with the 2nd gen ECU for some reason im not 100% sure. there are a glut of 3rd gen steelie p245 takeoffs for sale on Craigslist at good prices but I would have to remove tires in order to switch the TPMS sensors plus a rebalance just eats away at the low cost of buying the 3rd gen takeoffs or I could just try to ignore the TPMS light or black tape mod.
