    Years ago it was for being an English colony. They wanted to be free of colonial life. After years of protests and international pressure the English finally backed away. Now that Beijing has the reins the people in Hong Kong realize that colonial life wasn’t that bad and mainland China is bleeding them dry as well as the issue of China and her extreme care in protecting human rights.
