    The one linked is only for my truck. the mustang needs some love and restoration. Does have a rebuilt original 289 in it. Did run but I think the starter went out and been focused on the truck the past year.

    You'll need to pull the stock pulley off no matter what if you change pulley sizes. That puller looks really excellent and shouldn't damage pulleys at all but it is also on the pricey side. A few of us have used cheap pullers and wrecked the puller and/or the pulleys themselves upon removal. A decent quality puller with at least three arms will do the job fine. Also, go with a quick change pulley system and shave the snout when you change pulley size or you'll end up doing double the work eventually.

    Thanks, should be covered then. My Brother owns a shop and assume he has plenty of high quality pullers. Was curious since this was specific and needed.

    I already have the Qwikchange setup and snout cutter enroute. Just going to go with order 2.8 instead of the 2.5 to started I may not be able to get to some of the needed items such as valve body work right away.

    A specific puller is not required, but a quality one with more than 2 jaws that fit in the space available is. Several of us have had good luck with a Craftsman 5 TON RATCHETING PULLER. There are others that might work, but this one is sized to fit where you need it to.

    Personally, I'd go with the tool from pulley boys. I have the craftsman puller, and it works great, but it has bent both the pulleys I have removed using it. The tool looks like it might alleviate that risk.

    I can’t speak for anyone who’s done it. However, it is not an inherently high pressure area to draw from, but combined with good spacers would alleviate a significant amount of heat from the engine bay. I know that is a bit of bro science with my specific unit of measure being significant but the scoop hasn’t panned out for much of anything other than a light bar. I would be interested to see it opened in combo with spacers or louvres. It would allow environmental dump right on top of the engine though. I’m not sure I would want a bunch crap....water, sand, mud dropping into the bay for myself though

    From what I have read, the scoop isn’t in the best place to force air in.
    Additionally, the 2012+ hood scoop is extremely small. Not worth it unless you are going for looks. You would be better off spacing the back of your hood up slightly to allow air to escape the engine bay.

    Great, mainly was pondering it for airflow so I can cross that off for now. What do folks do for spacing the back of the hood? Adding spacers to the mounts?

    My hood scoop is opened up, it helps dissipate additional heat that it otherwise would not. That coupled with the rear weatherstrip removed at the cowl helps she'd so much heat during the summer especially at idle, it's unreal.

    There are a couple threads around on it. @Evenflow opened up his scoop and mentioned seeing heat rise out when stopped. When moving you are better off looking at some type of louver.

    I think he had mentioned being able to see the mirage effect when you get the two different temperatures of air. Call it heat waves, heat shimmer, heat haze. Whatever you want to call it. It is visible. I've seen it coming off my louvers too. And if I hold my hand over my louvers with the engine running you can feel the hot air exiting the engine bay.

    Oh no, I know. I have seen that mirage effect from many areas including the road itself when it is hot enough.

    I see that mirage effect out of cars all the time, but if I see it from an immediate area that I missed, I know it works, it's a sight and feel sort of test for me to know if it's working.
