Yeah, the facts of life of living in road salt country. I run my vehicles thru the car wash every week or so in the winter, that helps.

I lived in North Dakota for many years. They didn't salt the highways, just sanded them and it showed on the cars and trucks.

Alright doll-face, c'mon and bore me!
I thoroughly washed my last truck once a week in winter, or whenever the temperature got up somewhere close to freezing. By the time I got rid of it, it was leaving pieces behind in parking lots.

Salt is an SOB. That is something I absolutely hate about living in the north east. I had Subaru before my taco and it held up pretty well so hopefully my Taco does the same. Granted, I did lose a muffler in a parking lot once with my subbie lol.

I live in the northeast too. I recently brought a "chassis wash" attachment for my pressure washer. That way when we get a day above freezing, I can blast all the road salt off all the cars in my family. Hopefully, this will help keep the rust at bay.

That's kinda' cool. I used to use the high-pressure sprayer at the hand car wash to blast the salt off the underside. Last fall, I started having Fluid Film applied to all things metal underneath. The recommendation is to NOT wash the underside as FF is water soluble. We'll see how it goes.

Thanks, man. I used the red 3M double sided automotive tape. I found some in my toolbox in my basement. I was debating on spraying them matte black and tossing the TRD Pro or Bro badges on it. 4 coats of the Satin Paprika did the trick.

The urge to mod continues... yesterday my all black matte finish TRD pro grill from The Taco Garage out in CA was delivered and I couldn’t wait to see how it looked.

The fit and finish came out great, but I don’t really have anything to compare it to. All the clips seem like they will hold up. I just wish there was a way to make it so that I could of used some of the OEM screws to better secure it.

It took about 2 wks after I ordered it to get here and boy was I anxious. Super excited about it, thanks AJ!

What does everyone think of the all black lettering?

    Build is slowing coming together...

Since there has been much talk of painting logos, thought I'd show you guys a pic of the red anodizing paint (over chrome) I mentioned a while back...

    upload_2019-8-14_12-52-59.jpg

It would look a LOT better if I were any kind of a photographer. I just could not find a way to light this thing. Suffice it to say it's really spiffy in person. The paint was easy to work with, too. I just gave it a couple of waaay too heavy coats. It first pooled at the bottom, then evened itself out. One problem is that the selection of colors is pretty limited.
