I don't believe you can. It's towards the back corner where the aquarium is.

It's been several years since I was back there. Could be a frog pond now.

More towards center. I had gone out the door towards the aquarium corner.

fly line can really make a cheap rod shine.

I just switched out my Orvis hydros HD lin for SA GPX. fingers crossed.

I still don't know if i'm sold on the textured lines stuff. I've always had issues with keeping the time afloat. even after putting some fly floatant wax stuff.

Just the buzz saw sound of textured lines slipping through the guides irritates me.....let alone the cut fingers. :D

Just got back from a back country fly fishing trip yesterday. Sadly it was not in a Tacoma, but I am closer ever day to getting mine finally. Here is one of the treasures we found out there.

That's a healthy bull. It's head kinda resembles that of a redfish.

I guess they do a bit, I had never really thought about it. I am no where near Red Fish so I only see them online. This fish hadn't missed many meals I don't think and it pulled like a bat out of hell. Saw my backing a few times on my 7wt.

    Well Update.
Had to make a decision on line weight so I went with 9wt prestige plus with hypershoot and hyperglide like I did on my 4wt.

Made a new leader and put a big black fly on it.

    Big difference...
I can load the rod now.
Line is more straight and loop is tighter.
Fly is going by the top of my head instead of below my shoulder.
Need to shorten the leader about a foot I think.

It’s not a 4wt for sure and everything is in slow motion but it works now

Now I need to find some good info for LMB flies and plugs.

    Nice!

If you're not already, use straight 15lb mono for your leader. 6' should do. Bass aren't leader shy. It'll help turn over the big flies.

Yea I found the right length for my 4 by accident and I’m seeing the same thing on the 8.
    My 4 has 20/12/8.
My 8 has 20/8. Just to see what the fly does.
And I think I agree with you I’ll experiment with the straight 12 that I have.

I need to see what Flies others are using for Bass...

Same. Wishing I was in the rowers seat instead of this rigid office chair.

    I switched to a 20/14 leader 6 feet.

I can false cast like 3 times and get about 50 foot cast on my knees so it's off the ground. So I raised the fly about 4 feet as a guess.. Will try to get out this weekend but it's a lot more comfortable.
Still feels like tree limb compared to the 4wt.. Lol. But I think once I get Hooked into a good one I'll appreciate it...
