Just in case you didn't know how ... here's how to remove your door panels. Big thanks to @Oldie2007 for providing the outro pic!

I redid my whole system a few months back. Ended up building two separate boxes. One transmission line box for 2 tens that will run you out of the truck. Actually cant drive with it up or the rear view mirror falls off  and another small sealed down firing box that I can beat the hell out of and doesn't take up much room. 6x9 Rockford in the front with focal tweeters and some 20 year old pro level crossovers I had been saving since I worked at audio one in richmond. It actually sounds pretty damn good for relatively inexpensive speakers. I'm a car audio nut so keep us posted.

What I'm adding will just be simple plug n play swaps and nothing crazy ... but still a HUGE improvement over the crappy factory setup.

Really looking forward to this. I know that I have terrible hearing. But if I'm riding with my windows down and volume maxed, and I can't hear? That's not acceptable to me.

I laughed when I took one of the factory speakers out and visually compared it to one of the new speakers. I'm surprised ANY sound comes out of the factory ones.

. You leaving your head unit OEM? That's what I'm interested in. I would like to be able to achieve the results I'm looking for with just some plug and play speaker upgrades. I don't really want to get into swapping the head unit.......But I've also been told that the head unit is a lot of the problem.....:bananadead:

Yeh bro you need to swap the head unit first and foremost. You get a much bigger return on sound for much less work. You could add new speakers but if you're not adding a new amp then what's the point? And if you start to get into wiring in a new amp, why not just replace the head unit?

Because BFH's, steel, welders and grinders are my thing. Wires are not. That's why.

Not yet ... but that might be in the future. Finished the driver's side today and will do the passenger side tomo. Went ahead and added the sound deadening to the front driver door because that lock/window plug is a bitch to remove.
