Love to hear more from someone who's done it. I didn't think it was a simple swap but could be wrong.

Easy swap all plug and play. The only thing is that you will need to order a new radio bezel because the Entune premium is bigger. I bought mine on eBay $250 and if I recall the bezel was $140 and 15 minutes it was done

OP, not sure, but I think the SR is missing an HD antenna. So it will probably swap out, but the HD functions will not 'tune in' correctly?
Might be something to check into.

HD runs off of the regular AM/FM antenna. Sirius/XM radio however has it's own antenna.

Is there any kind of security protocol that makes it a PITA? Like, does the dealer need to do anything to activate it in a different vehicle?

Also, does GPS work properly? Do you need any kind of special antenna or other hardware not already included with the base radio?

I’m not sure but I think the SR doesn’t have the GPS antenna so would have to add that. Like I said I have a SR5 and that has the GPS antenna and it’s plug and play everything works as it should

I’m came with the Entune plus radio but I believe (99%) that all the SR5 are prewired with the GPS antenna. So you should be good to go. If not Amazon sell gps antenna for $15-20 and you just plug it in mount it under the dash as close to the windshield as you can and your good to go

Okay here's the progress that's going on with the Sr I got the radio from a TRD off-road I got the Crux interface kit. The tough one was finding the GPS unit the dealer wanted $413 for the unit there was a company that sells reconditioned units and I could get it for $80 I figured I'd just go to a wrecking yard and I picked one up out of a wrecked Tacoma for $20 they didn't know what it was worth.

OK did some wok on the bezel and with a little work with a bench router I got the hole enlarged to fit the etune radio I had to shim the stereo 1/8 inch to make it fit right every thing works great
