The reality is, you guys, that I have the tools and the ability to to this, but I am working 60 hour weeks and do not have the time right now.

The moral of the story is that I should have checked the part numbers, and you should too if you are buying something from 4WP. Oh, and if you want to have a shop to your work, expect to pay.

Whereabouts are you located? If possible I'd find a different shop, back when I got quotes for stuff like this 4WP was always one of the highest. By chance I heard of a local tire and wheel shop that also did suspension installs and they only charged me $275 to do front/rear shocks, add a leafs and an alignment. SoCal

edit - nm I thought you had the work done at 4wp

    Classic case of:
Bent over, no lube , grabbed the sheets and still cried.

However, we as viewers can learn a few valuable KEY points from this:

    -Check your parts
    -Shop Research

    Is it Friday yet ?

4wheel parts sold me rear springs for my 99 F250 and one leaf pack was wrong . You couldn’t tell , it took me 6 months before a mechanic friend spotted it. They made it good but They lost me as a customer.

4wp wouldn't sell me 885 coils cause they were 100 percent convinced that they wouldn't work on 5100s, thought my head was going to explode talking to the guy.

7 hours? Jeez! Any normal person would have pulled 1 shock out, put it in the spring compressor, compressed the spring, took the shock out, grabbed the new shock and realized the problem. 1 hour max and then get on the phone and let the customer know there's a problem. If it took more than 1 1/2 hours to do all that and put it back together, they're a bunch of idiots.

They were just fluffing the numbers. Customer supplies wrong parts, fluff a bunch of "labor time" to get more money. Not unheard of. They know the customer will have to pay again to get what they want, so they turn a bolt or two while working on a vehicle of someone who purchased parts through them then charge at full rate for time out of the hour they used to work on it.

Install the correct 5100 yourself and hold off on the alignment you have tomorrow for another week or two.

Why did pay for something they didn’t do? They still owe you an install of parts. You should have only paid for labor to remove the old.

This ^ O.P. is out of luck, the install shop is not at fault as they put on what the customer brought them.

Thats why i dont install customer supplied parts. If they give me stuff that doesnt fit or doesnt work, they won't want to pay and/or I'll have a vehicle tying up a bay while i wait for them to bring me the correct parts.

wait hold on, why would YOU have to pay for the work the shop did, if they knowingly removed everything understanding that nothing could be done since they were not the proper fit? or am I not understanding this properly?
