Black Grille Surround compatibility

Hey guys,

I found this part in an old forum and was wondering if anyone has purchased this black grille surround?

It’s on sale and I want to pull the trigger, just wondering if it would be compatible with a ‘19 OR.

It says on the website that it’s compatible with an ‘18 OR.

2018 and 2019 grilles are no different as far as I know...

Well my package arrived today and I got the swap done in less than an hour!

Looks a million times better than the chrome, so happy with the purchase!

Aside from tinting the front windows, I’m now considering buying a vinyl emblem cover to either black it out or match it with the cement. Anyone have pictures of their modified emblems?

So the one you provided the link to says it will not fit a 2019 but yours is a 2019 and you bought it and it worked just fine am I reading this correctly? If si I’m down for one myself Thanks

 

The website doesn’t say it won’t fit a 2019, it just doesn’t list 2019 on the list of compatible models. Seems to stop at 2018.

My guess is they just haven’t updated the website. It fits perfectly!

 

Looks great. Just did the same on my 2019.

 

Ordered my black trim surround from PURETACOMA.com. Can't wait to get it on. Only thing left is to MAYBE do something with the rear chrome bumper. Possibly take the chrome plastic off and have them sprayed to match the truck (Cement)

 

this actually looks real good. I was thinking of doing the pro grille but this does not look bad at all! One more step closer to de-chrome my truck hahaha

 

Yeah I didn’t trust myself enough to do a lasting paint job on a part that’s right up front for everyone to see.

I think mine was $111 shipped to CA. Worth it for me.

 

Yeah the pro grilles are too plastic and cheap looking for me. The cheese graters on the ‘19’s have a black tint to them so the black surround really looks great.

 

Try having it shipped to a business address of you are able. When I ordered mine shipping was crazy high. Punched in my work address and it dropped like $15. No idea why, but it might be worth a shot.

Paint on a chrome piece will eventually chip. There's really no way around it.

 

I still cant believe Toyota puts a chrome grille on an Off-Road vehicle! Just as bad as putting Kevlar "Highway Tires' on one!

 

I sanded , primed, and painted, mine. I'm not sure how well it will hold up, but i'm not really picky about it being perfect, it came out good. I seen them on ebay for $90 shipped.
