Hi there everyone, Last year I bought my first taco. Actually it was my kids choice. Where I live, diesel is the choice of engine. Actually,I have a 20 year old Hilux . In the family since new. Indestructible, all spring leaves , 2,8 diesel. I also have a nissan navara diesel. Why the diesel talk?. The torque is immense on a diesel. Never had any issues with the suspension in my old pick up's. My new Tacoma has axle wrap since new, in particular on the loose sand when I am on the savanna's. That aside, I am so happy happy with her.
Q: is axle wrap normal on a new Tacoma? It cost me a lot to purchase her in the States and export her to my country in South America. So, I am reluctant to invest in new spring leaves on a brand new car.
I read the suggestions about the "U bolt solution". Any other suggestions? Any form of help is welcome.

Welcome to TW! Unfortunately, Tacoma’s are known for axle wrap due to the poor quality leaf springs Toyota uses. However, I don’t notice it as much on my 3rd gen Tacoma compared to the 2nd gen. If you would like to decrease axle wrap, you can purchase some OME Dakars or an Add-A-Leaf to help “stiffen” the existing leaf springs. While this won’t eliminate the issue entirely, it should decrease its occurrence. I know you’re out of the states, but maybe someone else can chime in! Hope this helps!
