I’m reading high 3’s on all channels. Which leaves me to believe I have a grounding issue.

I want to know where everyone who’s running a CB grounded their antenna mounts. I’ll include some pics to show my current set up.

    Details:

    Cobra 75wxt
RG-8x coax cable (not coiled up)
    Firestik antenna
    Cali raised bed mount (shaved)

Shaved mounts on the underside to make contact with antenna stud. Shaved mounting holes. All have continuity from antenna to that metal peice where it’s mounted.

I’ve heard it’s not good to run against metal like it is here with the bed rack?

Again grounded from the bottom side of the mount (shaved) and ran a ground wire from there to that metal piece. *not sufficient enough? Still has continuity.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Take the washer off, ant should only touch nylon washer.

And shoulder on nylon should be down so as to shield mount from ant.

Thanks for the suggestion. But no luck. I’m still running the same numbers. I even tried pulling my antenna off completely and it still ran the same number.

I didn't clarify, nylon washer has two shoulders one on center hole which goes down and the one outside goes up & ant sits in it.

Ant is not grounded to mount.
    (should not)
