    Taking the dash apart repeatedly can’t be good, that’s why I’m trying to knock everything out while it’s apart.

    That's the way to do it: save up 47 mods for Saturday morning, do them all w/ no testing between. Verify that Engine Start now turns on the windshield wipers, and call the dealership for help Monday morning, after you tell your boss 'my car won't start'.

    That's MY game plan this weekend, anyway.
