Anyways, does anybody know how reliable a Prius is vs something like a Corolla/Camry/Accord/Civic?

Don't know which is more reliable but if they eliminate work-at-home and I have to drive 80 miles RT each day, I will seriously consider getting a Prius.

Hybrid. I don’t think they have a fully electric model yet, I may be wrong though. I hvent heard horror stories about them, plenty of them with high miles. Your biggest expense is probably the battery needing replaced after a while.

As long as you're not planning on keeping it for over 100k miles or 10 years.

I kinda do. 100K miles is about 4-5 years with me.

Me personally, I prefer a full gas than a hybrid car. Mostly because of the batteries. It’s a guarantee that you’re going to have to replace them. I think that they’ve gotten better over the years but I remember them having issues and needing to be replaced while they were relatively new. The Camry is great, my wife has had two of them (still has one) and they drive great and are low maintenance vehicles

How is a Camry more reliable than a corolla?

My ex had one, a 2004. Was up to about 110K on it when we split. Except for the headlight leveling motor going out that car never had a single issue. I have a lot of respect for those things. I'd get one in a heartbeat if I had a long commute.

Thats what Im kinda scared of. I dont want to have to replace the battery every couple years, or the car breaking down every few months.

I have a corolla about 33 local and 39 highway.
Prius is reliable for sure. Just needs basic maint and watch over it..
Prius shines in more local, in town driving

The same way a v4 taco could be more reliable or durable than a v6 or vice versa. I hear them 4 bangers never die.

I deal with a lot of rideshare drives and a lot of them complain that these small engines don't last much longer after 100k miles. Battery is the second part they complain about. Usually lasts for 7-10 years.

prius are very reliable. i used to have a 3rd gen prius IV in my stable and it worked just like new at 200k miles. all i did was the usual maintenance and no big repairs at all.

i've been eyeballing the lexus ct200 (same engine, batt, platform, etc) for my daily driving. looks a lil less goofy than the prius.

the battery warranty runs out but there are very few cases of the battery itself crapping out. just visit the prius forum and ask.

If the car lasts me 7-10 years Id be happy. Its not like I would put a lot of money into modding it like I did to my truck. How much do you think the battery would be affected if I put in a sound system?
