So I am slowly getting a full system installed in my 2019 DC with non-JBL audio. AudioControl LC2i is the only newer component, the rest is late 80s Precision Power AM amps and crossover. Speakers are Kicker 6x9 fronts and Infinity or JL Audio 10" behind the rear seats.

Currently I am connected to the front speaker outs at the head unit for the main feeds to the LC2i. These outputs have a significant "auto loudness" function between volume setting 0 to 25 that really loads up the low to mid bass.

I did some searching here but couldn't find an answer. This question is this: has anyone tried connecting to the rear outputs instead? I read somewhere else tonight that some Toyotas do not have the bass boost applied to rears, only fronts. If no-one knows I will try it, but I am avoiding this as the all aluminum speaker wiring at the deck sucks to connect to (cannot solder) and would rather not cut the rears if it doesn't work.

Rear speakers provide little to no output, if you hook up your lc2i to the rears you will have to crank all the gains just to get enough bass to match the rest of the speakers.

But check out this thread. I tested the entune headunits output at different volume levels to see what response we were getting from the headunit.
