I have been enjoying this site for all the advice and enthusiasm I see for this truck. I love the Toyota brand and didn’t know what I was stepping into when deciding to do research on a Tacoma. After hitting a deer and totaling my Camry I decided I wanted to buy a Tacoma and 2nd gen used seems to be where I’m leaning. I found a couple local options and both different enough but was wondering about this 2014 Prerunner SB SR5 with 57k miles going for $24,500. Am I looking at a decent price for it in 2019 or is this pretty inflated for a used car lot?

I paid 28k for mine which is a 2013 with 15k when i bought it in 2/19. came with a lift, 33" tires that the dealer put on it pre sale to make it more attractive to buyers.

That price would make more sense if was 4x4 and maybe a TRD package

Seems a little steep for a Prerunner IMO, I paid 30k out the door (~27k for the truck) for a certified 15 TRD OR 4x4 with 32k miles aboout two years ago

Paid 29,800 for a new one 4x4 v6 dbcb. I know your looking at used but honestly their resale is so high its hard pay so close to new vs used.

I think the CA market is very similar to AZ and that is too high for a Prerunner

well, i guess i am still happy with it, and it had such low miles and an extensive service history (for only 15k miles) that i was juiced and pulled the trigger. Plus didnt research it too much besides looking at the service records and inspecting at my shop. Oh well.

    Yes.

Keep in mind they price high so they can 'give' you big bucks for your steaming pile trade in. So if you are a cash buyer there ought to be ~$3k off the top.

As other suggest, if it was 4x4, it would be a better price, but still a bit high for a 6 yo vehicle.

Want to know the true worth? Call a credit union and find out how much they would loan. It's going to be at collateral value or a bit under. See how that number compares.
