    Hello from Sacramento CA!

I finally found her. My modest little dream truck, a 3rd Gen 4wd. I've debated for years to let my Nissan Frontier go after hundreds of snowboarding trips to Tahoe, but I've grown to love these Tacomas. Upgraded to the max, and missing the leather seats that I didn't want. She popped up on an online marketplace search, and I packed up the family right away to go check her out. I was a little bummed the dealership had swapped out the black wheels for some stockies, but they were nice enough to order a brand new matched set as part of the deal.

I signed the papers at 5:00pm PST, and at 7:10pm, she was on a flatbed as my family and I were being loaded into ambulances. We went broadside into a GMC that had tried to clear an intersection against my shiny new oncoming truck...I had her for 2 hours and 10min.

    Truck accident 1.jpg

The last couple weeks have been insane. Recovery, doctor visits, and trying to convince kids that accidents happen, and sometimes we can't control that. Hearing your child screaming after an accident isn't something you quickly forget. But it was outright depressing to hear "Dad....why did you buy such a bad truck?!?!" while getting belted into a stretcher. I'm slowly convincing them that it wasn't a bad truck, but it was the RIGHT truck, and it protected us just like it was supposed to. 2 hours or 2 years later, if the universe was going to put an accident on our plate, we had the perfect car for it.

I was back to square 1, this time widening the search to 500mi, since I preferred not to purchase this truck brand new. I searched from Oregon to San Diego, and that truck wasn't coming up anywhere. And then I found her...again, and this time in white. I drove a couple hours expecting to be disappointed after a few grainy pictures were all that was offered online. The moment I walked out the door and saw her, I knew I wasn't leaving until I was in that driver seat. 2 weeks after I found my dream truck, I couldn't believe it, but I found another that I liked even more.

I'm already 3 days in, and I'm addicted to all the upgrades on this thing. I've got all the black accents on the way, and I'm excited to be part of the Tacoma family!

What an incredible story. Glad to hear your family is OK and that the truck protected them. That's wya more important than any accessory.

But now it's your chance to have both :D:thumbsup:
