Just installed the driverside coilover. 885x's on Bilstein 5100's on a 2013 DCSB. Set at 0. Getting baaaarely 1.75 inches lift height out of it. WITH a 1/4 in spacer. Hub to fender. Not sure if this is some kind of sick joke but Im not sure where to go from here since the rest of the new suspension I was set on installing today depends on that extra inch that everybody els seems to be getting.
Strut was ordered from and assembled at wheelers, and the tags on the coil check out as 885x's.
Any suggestions on what my next move should be would be greatly appreciated. Im alittle stuck here:frusty:

Swap out the 885's for 887's possibly? Thinking about ripping out the strut again and swapping the 1/4 in spacer for a 1/2 inch I have on hand, and putting the 1/4 with the passenger side, but it still wouldnt be near 2.5 in higher at the end of the day.. Should I just go ahead and do the passenger side and see what happens?
This sucks because I dont have a whole lot of free time and really needed to get this done today :annoyed:

2 guys can lift a piano higher than 1 guy by himself. Put the other side in.

    Interested in the outcome.

I've been riding on stock front springs with 5100s set to 1.75 for the last 10 years. The Dakars I put on the back a couple years ago have the ass a little higher than I want. Tempted to toss some springs at the front, but want something that will give me 2-2.25" on the front of an AC.

Do you have extra weight on the front axle? Armor or a winch? Toytec estimates the 885’s at a 2” lift and recommends 886’s for a 2-2.5” lift if you have extra static weight.

Otherwise, I’d toss the other front side on and see where you are personally. Also loosen your upper and lower control arm bolts (not a lot) and bounce the front end a couple times then tighten them back up. Not sure if this applies to Tacoma’s, but I’ve seen it on other vehicles where failing to do that will preload the bushings they they will actually resist the spring rising to its natural height because the bushings are “stuck” in the original orientation.

I’m a bit new to Tacos, spent most of my 20’s autocrossing and doing track days, and doing a lot of suspension work along the way.
