    On both sides.
2013, this seems really early for a rust issue.
Any tips other than the obvious, take it to a body shop to paint it??

Looks like somebody may have given your rear bumper a "love tap" at some point and it sprung forward damaging the paint on the bed sides. Time to take it to a body shop to get it fixed correctly.

Yep the wings of the bumper are pretty flimsy and can be pushed/bumped into the bed. Even if you get take it to a body shop the factory bumper could hit again. I'd say get an offroad style bumper(aluminum if your interested in weight) to keep it from hitting the bed again.

    Thanks.
I do not off road. Would a good bumper go by anything else, other than off road?

Overland :) They're good for parking lot dingers, shopping carts, and the occasional oopsie moments when you back into a wall or stump or ditch. Mostly the offroad style bumpers just don't flex as much as the stock bumper

As suggested, that's the result of previous damage that was not repaired.

If you have not owned it very long you might try taking it back to the seller (if a dealer) and see if they are in the mood to be nice to you and take care of it.

If not, it definately deserves attention anyway. Don't want that to get out of control.

Sorry. Definitely appears the bumper made contact with paint on both sides.

You could easily clean that up with scotchbrite and some touch up paint.

I wonder if this is an insurance claim, or not.
I will, either way, take it to a pro to paint it. Thanks for the idea though.

Do the dealers carry touch up paint?

Your truck is missing the rear mud flaps. You see the "splash pattern" of dirt? Well that edge/corner is going to be thinner paint than the flat parts. Constant abrasion from kicked up dirt will wear away at that spot.

So if you do get it repainted, put some mud flaps back on there to protect it.

Thanks for noticing. I have had that on the list. I keep forgetting to do that.
That may be the cause, if not the bumper. I have had it for 3 years and have not gotten the flaps.
