my stock mast measures 31"+-, I would get if I got one that's 15 1/2" would cut reception in half? and so forth the smaller it goes

Ok guys... I got my new Antenna today and threw it on. This one is made of some sort of hard rubber or polycarbonate, instead of a cheap metal with a cheap layer of black paint that's just going to wear away after a summer or winter (like both my AntennaX)

So far it looks pretty good and sounds fine. I'll check more when I run some errands tonight and actually drive around with it. The screw fit perfect, too, and the base aligns pretty close to the stock mount so it doesn't look funny and bigger than the hole, like some.
Crappy photo coming right up. lol

So I’ve tried many and they get ripped off in the car wash!
Saved one from going down the drain while it was running but it screwed the socket.
    Stock antenna has no problems.
I just don’t run an antenna now.
I leave an old iPhone hooked up on my aftermarket head unit.
Didn’t replace the piece inside my fender myself.
Looked like a pain and they are not cheap.

    Also recieption suffered for me.

Yeah I'm glad nothing broke on mine the two times it broke.. Cuz no, it's not easy nor cheap to fix and replace that shit under the hood, above the tire.

So far this one seems pretty decent. It's actually a little floppy near the base, and can bend if you go in a car wash. That said, the paperwork does say to do so at your own risk. But hey, this one can't fade away like the others and the bolt does feel like a higher quality one.

We'll see. I'll update in 6 months. lol. Which is how long the others seemed to last.

The same shit everyone else has.

This is definitely the best way to do it. Trim it to like an inch or so taller than the highest point of your truck. It doubles as a good judge for low hanging signs in parking garages.

Cut mine down. Epoxied the little tip back on. Squirt of paint. Done

I’m SiriusXM 99% of the time, but the FM still comes in pretty good!

No short antenna will ever give you the same reception range as the longer ones. I personally never listen to the radio station. I ditched the long one and was gifted a short one. RONIN FACTORY Short 4" Antenna, I like the look of it but I wouldn't be able to tell you if it works well or not. I stream music to the radio.

What is your long term report on that antenna? I have been looking it over and might pull the trigger..

So far so good. Because it's not painted it's still black and looks brand new. And it's been over a year and it hasn't broke yet.. for how cheap it was, it works for me. Better than that other brand i mentioned. The reception doesn't seem any better or worse than before so it's good enough for me.

Yeah it's perfectly fine. I manually wash often these days, but yeah. This has held up better than any of the brands I previously bought.

I have the exact same one as gunther. It's awesome. Radio reception is actually better than stock. It handles car washes like a boss, and it really does flex like in the photo, but only when necessary. It stays completely upright at 85 on the interstate.

Which particular one did you get? There's different lengths, was it the 6 3/4" one?
