The Burr Oak reminds me of a tree like that about 3 miles from my house.it was one lone tree in an open field that was hundreads of years old. Stonewall Jackon sat under and prayed for like an hour during the war.It was called The Prayer Tree. It finally fell afew years back and the landowner gave it to this historical group on a promise to direct money from sales go to benefit wounded veterans! so they make ink pens, checker sets and stuff with certified letter of its from the Prayer Tree..

Personally, that El Camino you posted does things for me. I mean who puts that much effort into styling anymore. Borrowed the pic.

Long day shooting today, been up since 4. It was Humpback Sunday, lots of Browning A5's new and old. Friend of mine with last name of Browning is a relative to John Moses Browning and wore his A5 shirt.

    A5 Hell or High Water.jpg

Another friend of mine and I have the only 2 custom made Sweet 16 A5 with Briley modified barrels. He went custom straight grip I went with a different stock smith for a round knob. Lots of purple shells flying around today.

Grouse season is 4 weeks away. I need a nap. Time to grill something though. Humpback Sunday is over, for now.

it was nice, very well restored. and very pointy.

I love some of the details on the older cars - the 10's and 20's. Like the hood ornaments and all of the little stuff like the lights. Can't beat the curves on 30's and 40's rigs. 50's were pretty much the peak of car design IMO. Europeans have Picasso and Van Gogh, et al for art and design. Americans have our automobiles.
Little wall bracket for a flower vase. In a car. Never gonna see that ever again
    _MG_7209.jpg
And the lights and horn on the 1912 Kissel car. They almost look like an afterthought, just stuck whereever on the vehicle but on their own they're little works of art.
    _MG_7337.jpg
Those wheels! (they're wood) and those tires! (the tread spells out NON SKID)
    _MG_7286.jpg
The hood ornaments! My two favorites from today
    on a Plymouth
    _MG_7243.jpg
    and a DeSoto
    _MG_7404.jpg
    Fenders for days
    _MG_7240.jpg
    _MG_7258.jpg
And really when is a car ever going to look like this again?
    _MG_7347.jpg

My 3 favorties from today. All 50's all Chevy's....you know where my heart is...

So have any of you "cut the cord" on cable, and if you have, what streaming service do you use and how do you like it? (BTW, I must have the History Channel)

Do you have Amazon Prime? $120 a year for streaming video, free shipping, free returns. AND they've been doing a thing for a few months now that if you select "delayed, no rush shipping" on an order you get a $1 digital credit good on any video and book purchase. I've tried breaking up my orders as muh as possible to maximize my no rush rewards credits. And the shipping only takes maybe 1 day more than normal in my area so I figure I'm on the winning end of that deal all around.
I just have my Amazon Fire TV box. Plenty to see, most new stuff requires you pay but there's tons of older shows and movies available. Most channels you can subscribe to for a monthly fee. Plenty of "free trials" too for various channels.
History Channel stuff does require that you have a cable provider to sign in. There are a few shows and random episodes available for free mainly as a teaser.
If you have to have the History Channel you may be stuck with cable.

I've been cable free for 7 years. I got sick and tired of all of the political commercials during the 2012 elections so I killed cable TV. Just couldn't take it any more. Plus I only watched a handful of channels but paid for 80 of them. There's a few "free with ads" streaming channels that I frequent and they've started to get inundated with political commercials but for the most part its insurance, cell phone and banks advertising on there. Much less annoying.

I am more of a History Channel, Nat Geo Wild, National Georgraphic, Animal Planet, Discovery Channel, Viceland, etc etc type of tv watcher. If I want a move I just usually buy it from Amazon.
