Text on 2018 limited

Been through hell trying to get my new Tacoma to receive my text messages. Tried everything. Been to an Apple store to check my iPhone 7. Been to the dealership 8/16/19 for 3 hours working with service and my sales person, no luck. Blamed it on the iPhone. I could get my wife’s iphone6 and my daughters iPhone 8plus to Bluetooth connect to receive my text but not my iPhone 7. Here is the good part after a very miserable 3 weeks.
After reading all the google stuff I had already tried 10 times I came across something new. Someone wrote to go to settings, find messaging, tap and “turn off” mms/messaging.
It worked. All my text come through with a very distinct “bing”. Wow, this was a tough one to find.
The thread I read was from a gentleman named Chuckles. Thank you Chuckles, couldn’t have done it without you. Hope this helps someone.
