If you have an intermittent connection problem when you wiggle the mpvi2 around, it could be the spring tabs on your obd2 port pins are flattened out. I had this issue on mine. It was like someone shoved an oversized pin in the port at one time spreading out the female pin so the male pin from the mpvi2 wasn't making full contact. I had to pull the pin from the obd2 connector and bend the spring tab back up so it seated onto the mpvi2 pin firmly again.

So I definitely need to do this to probably all of the pins in the obd port. Mine are probably all a little loose from constantly driving around with my scanner plugged in, and not easy/ smooth driving.
Third one should be a video of my "normal" driving conditions as this is what I use the truck for mainly now.
    https://www.instagram.com/p/BzGjz_9gRFc/?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet

That said, I couldn't wait to pull all the pins out and bend all the spring tabs back this morning to give this flash a try, despite the recent bricks, since I was told the changes in flashing procedure recently greatly minimized the risk. So I managed to hold pressure on the module and stand perfectly still for the 5 min or so that it took to write @JustDSM initial tune with @nd4spdbh trans stuff in the mix.

First impression is the truck definitely felt peppier which is good as that's what we want right! I really don't drive the truck much since I got my dd last year, so it is hard for me to tell just how much better it was. This was also just a quick test run with lots of WOT so hard to tell significant changes in the trans tune other than I noticed it holding each gear longer than it used to coming in and out of my neighborhood. The lack of significantly improved power could also be attributed to the fact that I live at 7k ft elevation. I did open up my obd scanner and app on my phone during the drive and it was very nice seeing commanded afr's under load and WOT not down at 10, but around 12 which means mpg's should improve.

This said, I think I will give the dd a break next week and drive the truck around to do some logging and get back with @JustDSM with the results to see if any changes are in order. Thanks for the help everyone, this is definitely a much needed tool for these trucks and can't wait to dial it in some.

@JustDSM, @loginfailed might know the answer to this. But is there anyway i can add a multiplier to the values here in this chart (IE 14.6) so i can see actual AFR's vs lambda values?

EDIT - Looking like i could do a math parameter and add it to channel lists for future logging, but was wondering if i could take previous logs and do what im tying to do.

Lambda = A/F divided by 14.7 (general number...it differs for different types of fuel)

[Edit] ND, you'll want to create a custom math parameter to convert lambda to AFR (Gasoline) and then create a new graph that references that math parameter along with your defined axis parameters/values.

Looking forward to your thoughts. If you'll send me logs of your time up North, I'll further refine it for you.

I'll send you an email with a channels configuration file, and some general instructions. Stand-by for that.

Yeah, Lambda is what the truck spits out for measured AFR's, just want to make it into a value (x stoich .... which is 14.6 as defined in our tunes), that my brain can easily process.

I think i figured it out.... but what should my multiplier be, 14.6 which is the "Stoich" that the tunes target or actual stoich of 14.7?

I'm sure you're running some blend of ethanol in your fuel, so I'd go with the 14.6 value.

Let me know if you need a hand with the setup. But I suspect you'll get it figured out :)

Yeah.... what im trying to do is already built into VCM scanner.... problem is i recorded channels of Lambda not the transformed channel haha. So its all good! I got it figured now after playing with it for a bit.

Going to piggy back off of this. Currently running on my Backup Ecu which isnt being touched until my original gets back from being restored from @OVTune. And decided to go through and check my OBD2 port pins before doing some logging of the stock CAL, as I had never gotten any stock logs!

I have a lil ELM327 bluetooth adapter that ill plug in sometimes to monitor trans temps if im towing but id say 98.6249% of the time there is nothing plugged into my OBD2 port....

That stated, it looked like a my OBD pins had been massacred by mandingo - ALL OF THEM. Im honestly surprised that the MPVI2, or anything OBD related actually made connection due to the spring tabs being so flattened out (this might of been my issue with my bricking flash o_O).

I took a few pictures for those who would like an explanation of how to properly pull the pins out of the OBD port.

Get up all underneath the dash, Below circled in red are the clips that hold the white OBD connector in place to the dash plastics, one on each side. There is also a small harness holder about 3-4in up the harness that you can remove (with similar clips on each side) from the dash as well to make things easier.

Before you start, make sure to take pics of the back of the connector so you know where each wire goes, and only remove one wire at a time to not get things mixed up.

Once you have the OBD port in your hand the first thing you need to do is flip open via a very thin flat head (or something of the like) the lil "door" pictured below just above my thumb, there is one on each side of the connector which is the first of two "locks" that hold pins in place.

    pin1.jpg

Once you have the door open, then look dead on at the OBD2 connector, Circled in red is the second "lock" that holds pins in place. To release the pin, use a pick to pull up the lock towards the center line (inward) of the connector (red line drawn) and the pin will come right out. Then you can follow the above to re-bend the pins spring back a bit to put more pressure on connections.

There are connector extractor tools that'll make popping the metal connector out a breeze. Search "Molex connector extraction tool"

For the 30+ trucks I've done, not one that I know of went back to stock ;)

Can vouch for that, I gotta get me a new laptop so I can get you some logs with the latest setup lol. Really happy with the truck right now though. I got 21.2 mpg last tank, and I didn’t baby it the whole tank.

The tuner works as advertised. It's the vehicle side that has the issues.
