Has anyone has this issue? I was told it’s happening to a lot of Tacoma’s and the part is on backorder.

Basically the truck started rumbling and was jerking when I hit the accelerator. Eventually it just stopped and I had to get it towed to the dealer. I got all the warning messages in the pictures attached but was told it’s all related to the fuel pump.

I only have 15k on the truck and was shocked when this happened.

I see that the temperature outside was 121? Sounds like the truck went in to 'limp' mode.... due to extreme heat.

It was 113 outside which I guess is pretty hot but still unusual for the truck to behave this way I think.

Yeah if 121 outside put the vehicle into limp mode that would be a massive issue.

I live where summer is regularly 118F and garaged which is basically a microwave and ive never had this in either Tacoma. Definitely not heat related.

    Damnit...

On a serious note, the heat shouldn’t be an issue on any modern/new vehicle, or else that would be a huge safety issue.

Shell had an issue recently with this in my area with contaminated fuel, however it only applied to the higher octane levels.

The guy who was supposed to buy it flaked out on me so I still have it. Could be... haven’t gotten any additional details from the dealer.

Yea, and as far as I know... there hasn’t been a recall. I just hope something doesn’t break again when I get it back.
