Looking to purchase grill n garnish, I've messaged FiestaTaco and from looks of it I'm not the only one trying to get in touch with him... Anyone else have an idea on where to get the grills?

Ok, in that case I’d suggest keep trying cause he has the best hands down. Did you try posting in his thread directly?

I wanna say he was on vacation then really busy trying to get caught up on orders or something last I heard...

What is the clear layer on the front of the unobtainium OEM garnish piece? Plexi? Borosilicate?

I ordered the cheapest one I could find. 23 bucks delivered. If it throws an error, I'll hit the wobbly back with a surfacing bit on my CNC to make it uniform thickness. That should get rid of any distortions to/from the sensor, but I'd prefer it was tough on the front side as well...

$190 for a $4 injection molded plastic strip is highway robbery. They made the mold engineering $$ back in 2016.

You didn't pay $190, so don't judge people.

Besides, I actually know how that sensor works. It's solid Chinesium. It can be forced to work as long as what's in front of it doesn't bend/distort EM energy in the 10-20GHz range, cuz that's like replacing your windshield with a 150 year old antique window.

I bet it can be modded to display meters to the reflectiest object in front of the truck. Looks like normal SPI data link. Just need to record what it says at a couple of known distances, then feed that data to the trebuchet targeting system (TTS. No, not that TTS, and no, not that TTS either) in the bed.
