Today morning I went to the dealership to sign the paper, but only found out that the one I really like had just got sold yesterday evening. (I was there yesterday morning. :() My favorite color is sold out. (Quicksand)

So I couldn’t make the decision today, and the dealer told me that 20’ Taco would come out after the current promotion which ends on 9/3.

According to him, the dealership is likely to stock them around mid-September. Usually I don’t believe dealers but... this speculation seems to make sense.

I already order a camper shell fitting 19’ model but since 20’ Taco bed would be identical to 19’, this wouldn’t be a problem.

Anyway, based on the dealership information, as Toyota press and youtube video reviews said, the only noticeable change would be the seat, multi-information system, grille, light and new paint for Pro model. Basic bed design and details, major frames are going to remain same.

I just want to share this with someone waiting 20 Tacoma.

I'm waiting for one, and this correlates with my speculation as far as dates and rollout. I think demand is high, so I hope supply is as well. Thanks for sharing with those of us who may feel antsy.

Living in SoCal, possible high demand is my concern.

Many paid reviews try to project the 20’Taco as a big upgrade with new driver chair and multi-media upgrade. (in some sense it is tho) I like these upgrades but there’s no meaningful changes in safety features and drivetrain.

I can’t help but think about the situation that what if dealers tried to sell with premiums for a while... even getting MSRP can be hassle when New Taco comes out in SoCal. :rain:

Yeah, I'm prepared to be patient in central cal. I don't buy new vehicles often, and I'd rather make the right choice than the first one.
