Recently my fan has not been blowing AC/heat randomly. Parking and shutting off the engine has a chance to bring it back though. The AC itself is working as I can hear it kick on, just not blower. When it does work the air is ice cold so to me that rules out the AC itself. Any ideas or other threads that have had this issue? I'm guessing a loose wire/harness, haven't popped the hood to investigate yet but planning on it by the weekend just trying to get some leads on where to start looking. Thanks

From your description, I would look into the blower relay first you did not say if it is just one blower speed or all.

It happens with any speed. Its a go/no go whether it works or not.

I think some guys miss the fact that the blower motor is gunked up with dirt and doesn't rotate as well as it should. I just changed the blower motor in my FJ after 13 years/231K. Blows like a tornado now. I could have it on high and it would barely blow sometimes. YMMV

If it blows on high, but not on the slower speeds, 97% sure that the problem is the resistor and resistor connector. If it blows on the slow speeds, but not on the high speed, it's probably the fan switch connector and climate control panel. If it doesn't blow on any speeds, it's probably the motor and/or the blower motor connector. Looking at the mentioned connectors, will show obvious signs of heat damage.

Check the voltage at the blower connector. You can just simply check the blower by hooking it to 12 volts.

I’m having the exact same issue. I’m gonna pull the cluster out and check for dirt or debris or signs of heat damage.

Also, it blows cold on the high setting so I’m thinking it’s an issue with just the switch. Thoughts?

Looks like I have some heat damage. It has a hint of burnt smell as well
