    hey guys i have a 2003 tacoma trad 4 door with the v6 automatic transmission i have a power steering issue steering is a bit hard and. the pump was making a nois... i changed the pump to a rebuilt one and the rank is new and it still making the pump noise still a bit hard. i used dixron 3 transmission fluid

    Hello, I've read on this forum and a Honda forum where a new pump is installed but will still have the issues you describe. Sometimes the screen in the power steering reservoir becomes clogged. This even happened to a co-worker with a Honda CRV.
    Check out TW member Timmah's video. Goes into great detail on cleaning the screen. I followed his steps with success.
    Got to about the 20min mark in the video. That's where he goes into removing the pump to clean the screen.

    Yes make sure you clean the screen, even with fresh fluid the pump will still whine if the screen is clogged
