I recently installed a fox setup and lifted my truck and had it all aligned etc... I need to make a 800 mile road trip to possibly do a hood swap. I have 285/70 17 ridge grappler tires that I just installed on some 17x9 kmc wheels. Had it all aligned with those wheels on the truck. Can I put the stock wheels and tires back on to make the road trip? Would that cause any weird things with the alignment etc. thanks Dave.

The wheel and tire change won't affect your alignment.

What did you do about your TPMS?

Did you make any changes to your speedometer calibration?

Those are the only two impacts I can see.

Of course, why not just go as you are?

    I disagree.
Changing scrub radius will change dynamic toe, regardless of static toe measurement(aka: alignment).
Assuming it's a -12mm offset, that's about 1-1/8" of additional positive scrub; 12.5% of the tires 9" tread width.
Additional positive scrub radius requires more positive toe...
The OEM wheel/tire will toe out less than the aftermarket wheel/tires.

Will it make a shit over 1,600 miles? Not really.

Why do you want to change back to stock to make a road trip?

Was just trying to save wear and tear on new tires and better fuel economy.

Hypertech, I believe. Just type that into the 3rd Gen search function and read all about it.
