The Prerunner has a slip yoke at the front, so that won't work on a 4WD. I don't know if the rear flange is the same as the front.

 

Yep slip yoke won't work but the flange just *might*

 

Also, in case you don't know, you can't pull the outer CV joint stub out and drive on down the road. The CV stub is what holds the front wheel bearing together. If you plan on just removing some front drive components and driving, mention here what you plan on removing, to get advice on what other disasters could happen.

 

Able to contact the craigslist seller?
Economy Auto Salvage, Inc. USA-MO(Kansas-City 816-921-3700 Stock 166877) shows they have a 4wd access cab tacoma driveshaft to get the flange off of but its $450.
Midway Auto Parts, Inc. - PRP Midwest USA-MO(Kansas-City) 816-241-0500 Stock NP136864 has one from a 2014 for $400.
The double cab 4wd longbed is making it tough to find the exact one.
The show as 11 and 13 miles from me in Shawnee.

 

I’m in Overland Park, KS. I have a spare CV I can help out with and diff fluid. What damage does the rear driveshaft have? Think I have a slip yoke and possibly a rear flange and some spare u joints

 

He txted me, hes on his way to take his damaged flange to compare to the Craigslist driveshaft for sale in Blue Spings, MO. Hopefully its the same.

Yes he is waiting on drive shaft parts I think. Should arrive tomorrow.

 

Is the new flange out for delivery?
Unlucky timing to break down this week, the past few days have been hotter and more humid than most of the summer, maybe you are used to it coming from FL though.
Good luck with the fix. The western part of Kansas is going to be a pretty boring drive.

Thanks y'all, the Craigslist guy never got back but the flange yoke got delivered this morning. Got it installed and we're rolling again.
