Hello there. Like the title says, I've got a 1997 Tacoma 2.7L 4WD Manual XtraCab - been eyeing it for a week in a nearby yard and been chatting with seller a few days. He's an engineering type and took amazing care of the truck as his daily commuter the last 13 years. Regular maintenance, records, etc. Just retired and needs to reduce some costs.

I took the truck to a mechanic shop nearby before buying it, and had them get it up on a lift for an alignment check, with a request to specifically detail the condition of the steering/suspension systems. at 197k miles it will need rack and pinion/tie rods eventually, and further out than that it will need upper and lower ball joint replacements. Shocks and struts still in good shape, and tires in good shape too, thankfully. No rust.

Exhaust system completely replaced by insurance in 2011 due to a theft (catalytic converter), front lights replaced and upgrade a couple years ago, power steering reservoir and filter cleaned and serviced not too long ago.

canopy is color matched and dry as a bone, body is in great shape... a few dimples here and there you have to get up close to see, no paint surface breakage at all.

I do need to get the speedometer services, sometimes at speeds 45+ it will slide up to 75/85 mph displayed by the needle, and that's been quoted as a $135 repair should I not opt to do it myself (time is a factor, followed by tools and skill :)

I look forward to learning to care for the truck, and to the work i'll get done with it.
