One of my favorite places in Washington. I've driven on the beaches there literally hundreds of times. Most of the time, 2wd on street tires is good enough to drive on the parts of the beach most people drive on.

Can it get more adventurous than that too?

fun to drive on the beach/ sand. For sight seeing not so much. It's a fabricated town, made to be like pleasantville and is a total tourist trap.

I'm gonna say no. If you drive too close to the water or too high up on the sand the local cops are definitely let you know if they see you. This is no Pismo beach.

There's an ORV park by Potholes that's more that sort of stuff.

Fun to cruise up and down, only a few mile stretch, I think they open the N end near Copalis (sp) Labor Day weekend so you can cruise a bit further. Nothing crazy needed out there unless you’re messing around in the deeper soft sand, you should be fine.

Have fun! Don’t be bummed if it’s cloudy, typically is.

If you want to cruise up and down the sand, you can try Long Beach Washington, you can drive 20+ miles on the sand. I've only been on it a couple times. It's much softer sand so if the thrill of "almost getting stuck" is your thing, could be more fun?

Yeah drive on the soft dry sand and you might get stuck. Bring your tow strap and you'll make friends pulling out strangers.
