I just picked up my 2019 a few weeks ago. I’m sure I’d love some of the 2020 tweaks but I love the cash I saved on my 2019 for sure! Good luck!

Welcome to TW. I bought a 2019 TRD OR recently and have no regrets, especially for the price I paid vs a 2020. The upgrades to the 2020 were not worth the savings I got on a 2019.

Watching this thread closely! I am considering the same thing. At this point, I think I am trending towards the '19. So, when I can get my wife to test drive a 4runner for her, I'll just move to the other side of the lot for some more test driving.

    Welcome.

Two questions you should ask yourself: "how patient am I?", and "how much of a gamble am I willing to take?" If you are itching to buy before January, go with the 19. I'm willing to bet that some trims of the 20 will be over MSRP for a few months, wheras the discounts of the 19 are pretty much known until their inventory is cleared.

If you wait until next year, it might be worth watching the market. If the market hits a big recession, luxury goods and big pickups can be had for crazy bargain prices. (I bought a Ram 1500 during the auto crash of 2008 for stupidly cheap. Some of my friends got similar deals on their 2009 GMCs.) However, if the market is still chugging along, expect to negotiate at close to MSRP, maybe a hair under.

It mainly depends on you and your needs at the moment.
